Parliamentary Questions and Debates: World War I: Veterans

Appointed to the House of Lords in 1999, Lord Faulkner of Worcester was appointed a Lord in Waiting in the Whips' Office in June 2009 with responsibilities for transport issues, Wales and climate change.

Following the General Election he has relinquished the post of Lord in Waiting, and has been appointed to the panel of members of the House of Lords who act as Deputy Chairmen of Committees.

He has been reinstated as Chairman of the reconstituted War Heritage Group, and returned as Chairman of the British-Taiwan APPG.

World War I: Veterans

Lord Faulkner of Worcester asked Her Majesty’s Government, whethervfollowing the decision by the government of France to award the Légion d’Honneur to Mr Harry Patch and Mr Henry Allingham, they plan to grant similar recognition to these last two surviving veterans of the Great War.
